Many of us at JMP know how draining other jobsespecially the practice of lawcan be. That’s
why we’ve made it a mission to create a company where our employees can thrive, both professionally and
personally. Here are just a few examples of how we try to achieve an optimal work-life balance:
- A regular, 40-hour-a-week work schedule. Sure, there’s occasionally work to be done after 5:00 or over the weekend. But because our employees are so invested in their own projects or are willing to lend a hand to someone else, any overtime is almost always self-imposed.
- An open office environment where anyone can ask anyone else a question.
- A casual dress code. Actually, it’s not a “code” at allT-shirts, baseball caps, shorts, and sandals are all perfectly acceptable.
- Biweekly massageson the clock, and on a real massage table.
- Bowling, pizza parties, movie days, and various other company events. Most of these are during regular work hours, and many are open to family members.
- Our own version of the Amazing Racea citywide scavenger hunt that involved team-building, Sudoku, amateur Shakespeare performances, and lots of running.
- A genuine respect for every employee’s ideas, interests, goals, and circumstances.
